Skull
Cranium: Protects the brain, composed of eight bones fused together.
Frontal Bone: Forehead region, forming the front part of the skull and upper eye sockets.
Parietal Bones: Paired bones located on each side of the skull, forming the top and sides of the cranial cavity.
Temporal Bones: Paired bones below the parietal bones, house structures for hearing and balance.
Occipital Bone: Located at the back of the skull, contains the foramen magnum for the spinal cord.
Sphenoid Bone: Butterfly-shaped bone at the base of the skull, contributes to the eye socket structure.
Ethmoid Bone: Located between the eyes, forming part of the nasal cavity and eye sockets.
Facial Bones: Composed of 14 bones, including the maxilla (upper jaw) and mandible (lower jaw).
Maxilla: Forms the upper jaw and supports the upper teeth, part of the orbit and nasal structure.
Mandible: Lower jawbone, only movable bone in the skull, holds lower teeth.
Nasal Bones: Small bones forming the bridge of the nose.
Zygomatic Bones: Cheekbones, located below the eyes and lateral to the nose.
Orbit: Bony structure surrounding the eyes, made up of multiple cranial and facial bones.
Sutures: Immovable joints connecting skull bones, including coronal, sagittal, lambdoid, and squamosal sutures.
