The scapula, commonly known as the shoulder blade, is a flat, triangular bone located on the back of the ribcage. It connects the upper arm bone (humerus) to the clavicle (collarbone) and serves as a key site for muscle attachment, allowing for a wide range of shoulder and arm movements. Its role includes providing stability and mobility to the shoulder joint and acting as a base for muscle coordination during arm movements.
The 3D scan of scapula provided by the Institute of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University Bratislava. Mandibula was scanned by three scanners (PhoXi 3D Scanner XS, PhoXi 3D Scanner S, MotionCam 3D Color S) provided by Slovak company Photoneo. The bone was scanned from different positions and the final image was combined by using factory software.
