Open Cranioplasty – Bone Reposition
Open cranioplasty is a surgical procedure performed to repair defects or deformities in the skull, often caused by trauma, surgery, or congenital anomalies. The procedure involves making an incision to access the skull, shaping and securing a bone graft or implant to restore the integrity and contour of the cranial structure. Common materials used include autologous bone, titanium, or synthetic substitutes. Open cranioplasty not only protects the brain but also improves cosmetic appearance and may enhance neurological function in certain cases.
We present a structure corresponding to open cranioplasty. The structure was obtained by data segmentation and is quite large – 207 MB. As it is standard size of the skull, you can use smaller printer but it is recommended to use better resolution printing to illustrate all the details
